Welcome to Dragon Nexus 10 years ago 3. Eh, it's a helpful topic for anyone who got an updated for christmas, I guess Unless TC is trying to pass this off as new information. And I'm not sure if he is. I've had multiple consoles, and on my current one there were a few games I couldn't play anymore because I didn't do the license transfer. However, after the recent Fall update, it seems like they automatically transferred the license to this new system.

Because I sure didn't do it, and I can play the XBLA games that were previously locked to trials even though I owned them for like years. Joined Jul 13, Messages 6, Nice, I've had two replacements so I have some content spread across all 3 systems that I've owned.

XboxodX Gawd. Joined Jun 26, Messages Well, it's cool and all, but, from what I understand, it makes you transfer all of your licenses for all of your registered consoles to the new console your getting, not just from a single console to another. IMO, that's ridiculous. For instance, my friend's died, and since he's retarded when it comes to computers and the internet, I went ahead and registered his console under my name so I could send away for a repair.

Since the transfer tool makes you transfer all licenses, I would be transferring my licenses, as well as his, to his new console. You should be able to pick and choose which licenses you want to transfer. If i'm wrong about this, please correct me, but from what it says, I think i'm right. Psychotext Supreme [H]ardness. If that doesn't help, please try clearing the cache via Settings - System - Storage - Highlight storage device and press Y and select clear cache. Do this 3x and then restart the console.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. The license for content you purchase is for a single account or a single console.

After you purchase and download an Xbox Live game, anyone in your household may use it. You can install and play the game on other consoles. However, only the account that purchased the game can play it. A friend can't play the game using his or her own account. To do so, your friend should purchase the game using his or her own Xbox Live account.

Well then why aren't I allowed to play Black Ops 2 on a different account from the one it was purchased on? I'm frustrated. Content purchased is attached to the profile the things were bought on. Even with a licence transfer, it's only to transfer the content to a new Xbox, NOT a new profile. You cannot transfer things from one profile to another.

Some DLC can be used by both profiles as long as the content is on the same Xbox, which it is. Sign Up for free or Log In if you already have an account to be able to ask and answer questions. Question Status Can I re-buy content that has already been downloaded, but cant access because I can't transfer the license currently?
