Would someone have some suggestions on how to approach this problem? The server's name was being used as the connection location, which worked fine and let us connect to the server normally most of the time; however, on occasion, the server's name would be associated with our ISP's IP address rather than the server's IP address, for whatever bizarre reason.

Changing the connection location to the server's static IP address seems to have elimiated the problem entirely. The support in this thread was much appreciated, though; without it, I probably would've continued to assume all was well with the DSN :hehe:. There's two different ODBC Data Source clients in bit Windows systems, it seems; if you're using the wrong one, you may not be seeing the Access client in the Connection Pooling tab. July 23, at pm If I remember correctly they have a tool, or can point you to where it is, that you can download and make the changes for you. Otherwise, you would need to change the registry settings manually. How could I repair this?

Tks, Rui. What are you using for the server address? Is it an IP address or a computer name? If it is an IP address it should be able to get right to it, if it is a computer name, the problem may be in the DNS resolution. If the problem is consistent and your using the computer name, try changing it to the IP address to see if that helps. This could be a network issue with the DNS server. This happened in computers with the firewall client of ISA server. Even when I stop the firewall client of ISA server service, the error appears.

When I reinstall the firewall client of ISA server, the problems appears again. Rui Oliveira. Reply to author.
